Restaurant Review: Han Gang Koreatown (NYC)

Location:34 West 32nd Street
(between 5th Ave & Broadway)
New York, NY 10001

Price: $$

I've lived in Korea so I like some Korean food. While in Koreatown I was on a mission to find Galbi that I could cook at my table. Cooking it at your table is part of the experience.

I looked at a lot of restaurants and most of them said "you must order 2 portions to cook at your table."

The waiter of Han Gang was standing outside the door so I asked him if we got to cook it at our table. He said yes. Then my next question was to inquire about having to order more than one portion. You didn't have to order more than one. I think we have a winner.

We went on a Sunday around 2pm. There weren't many people in the restaurant so we got seated right away. We ordered Galbi. First we got our side dishes. I never know what the side dishes are called but they were good.

The waiter cooked the galbi at the grill on our table while me and him chatted about Korea. He was really friendly (and handsome).

The service was great. They were really attentive and helpful.

The price is a little expensive, but hey you're in NYC so its expected.

We got one portion of Galbi that was plenty enough for 2 people. It was $24.95.

I was pleased with this restaurant. Good food and great service. If you like Korean food you should check it out.
